Science is a wonderful thing. This sentence has one big “if” attached to it. Science is a wonderful thing, if people trust in it. I believe many of you do not trust it to the full extend.

Well here is the hinc, science has allowed us to widen our horizons all the way from micro organisems to the stars, but getting to know those things was not the hard part, getting humanity to understand them was.

This mainly started in 20th century onwards. People finally had a fast and easy way to share their discoveres and research. For example, the first automobile appeared in late 17th century with the invention of steam power, additional two centuries were needed to get to the first petrol internal combustion engine which appeared at the end of the 19th century. That is when science development suddenly ramped up and presented hydrogen, hybrid, electric, turbocharged and recently even self-driving cars.

All of those new types of cars were a great opportunity for people to express their opinions and criticisms about those new designs, but none of them actually knew how the cars work, they only knew that it was a new thing and doubted it.

In the last few years, I have been watching this phenomenon in a medical field. People have started dying of the coronavirus, doctors have become overwhelmed, many of them suffered mental breakdowns, meanwhile the rest of us have been comfortable in our homes and bored. Luckily for us, there are also other groups of people, who do not only sit around and wait until this virus magically disappears, these people are scientists who work tirelessly into the night, every night until they find the solution to the crisis. It has come in the form of a vaccination, you know the same vaccination you may get every year against the flu or at birth against polio or every few years against tetanus or any other of a dozen vaccinations you can get to make sure you and people around you stay healthy, and yes, you contribute not only to your own health, but also to those around you. It is called the grater good and you, as an individual, should not be allowed to decide about it, especially without the proper education and knowledge about the subject in question.

But do you know who has the knowledge about vaccination? These people are scientists and I think we should all trust them the same you trust engineers that your car is not going to fall apart on a motorway.
