Introduction

The purpose of this report is to present MEPI expedition as well as get the first part of my final mark in school subject ITS-english. It is written by a 17 years old student of gremer school Jesenice for publishing on a website as a part of finishing this subject.

Why expedition

Expedition is a great way to teach people to work in groups especially in the wilderness where all members are equally important. On this expedition group learned how to navigate through unknown terrain, sleep in the wilderness, be self-sufficient and most importantly team work.

People involved

The group consisted of students, including myself. The group was monitored by two teachers who made sure the group had enough water and was on the right path.

The terrain

The majority of walking was done on mountain Nanos whit some descents to villages. On the first day, the terrain mainly consisted of steep uphills and rocky paths, but luckily the second day offered more flat terrain.

Challenges along the way

The first day went smoothly despite the fact that pace was significantly slower then anticipated. One of biggest issues was in the morning, because waking up after a night of sleeping on the rocks is not particularly easy. One student suffered from blisters and had difficulty walking.

Conclusion

Two-day expedition ended on Sunday whit the group still safe and sound. The MEPI committee approved the expedition to qualify for an official conclusion of the bronze level.
